Montgomery police have launched a death investigation after a boy died after being found in a pond on EastChase Parkway.

Montgomery Police Capt. Raymond Carson told Action 8 News that officers and fire medics were called to the scene at around 3PM yesterday. The pond is near apartments between Hobby Lobby and Academy Sports.

Carson says the boy was pulled from the pond and taken to a hospital. The boy’s name and age have not been released.

Montgomery Fire/Rescue Department Assistant Chief Stanley Cooper said that maintenance workers pulled the boy from the water. Cooper said the boy’s father was on the scene.

Cooper says that the boy had been receiving life support treatment at Baptist Medical Center East’s emergency room as of late yesterday afternoon.
