Super Tuesday in Alabama: What to expect

23campaign2024

Alabama’s presidential and state primaries are here. What can you expect?

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump look to continue their streak of lopsided primary victories in anticipation of an expected general election rematch. Alabama is one of 16 states where voters are going to the polls.

In addition, voters will decide primaries for Supreme Court chief justice and Public Service Commission president, as well as a statewide ballot measure. The slate of races also features U.S. House primaries, including for the new Democratic-leaning District 2, which covers Montgomery and now has a near-majority Black population and another, where two Republican incumbents will face off against each other in District 1.

Polls will be open from 7AM until 7PM statewide. Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen says to remember to take your photo ID with you to the polls.

Also, remember that you can request either a Democratic or Republican primary ballot. You cannot vote in both primaries.
