Some Montgomery County roads to get improvements

The Montgomery County Commission has announced that 34 roads will be improved as part of a $6.8 million project.

The projects include repaving and striping more than 59 miles of roadway.

Funding is coming from the Montgomery County Rebuild Alabama Fund (CRAF), Federal Aid Exchange Fund, and Montgomery County General Funds. The total cost of the projects is $6,840,833.07.

Many of the projects cover just a few tenths of a mile. The longest is more than 11 miles, on Meriwether Trail from U.S. Highway 331 to Alabama Highway 94.

Drivers should expect some minor delays and traffic pattern changes during the repair work.

Plantation Road – from Tabernacle Rd to County Line – 1.5 miles

East Old Hayneville Road – from U.S. Highway 331 to Hobbie Road – 2.6 miles

West Old Hayneville Road – from Butler Mill Road to U.S. Highway 331 – 2.1 miles

Hayneville Ridge Road – from U.S. Highway 82 to County Line – 5.9 miles

Crest Drive – from Dead End to Mitchell-Young Rd. – 0.2 miles

Jones Drive – from Dead End to Mitchell-Young Rd. – 0.4 miles

Amanda Lenore Drive – from Dead End to Mitchell-Young Rd. – 0.2 miles
