Memorials planned for Montgomery County Deputy Jermyius Young
Memorials are being planned to remember the life of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Jermyius Young.
Young died Friday, April 5, after crashing his patrol vehicle on Hobbie Road while on duty two days earlier. He was 21 years old.

Thursday at 6:45, a celebration of life memorial will be held at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 115 S. Perry Street. In addition, a vehicle is parked in memory of Young outside the sheriff’s office and will be on display until 5PM Sunday. The public is invited and can leave flowers and cards.
Young’s funeral will be Monday, April 15, at the Church of the Highlands on Taylor Road. Visitation will be from 10AM-12PM, with the funeral immediately following. Burial will be in the Alabama Heritage Cemetery on Atlanta Highway.
Gov. Kay Ivey has directed that flags be flown at half-staff on Monday in Young’s memory.
