ACTION 8 UPDATE: Man charged in Tallassee shooting

Tallassee police have charged a man in a shooting that occurred Monday morning.

The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. in the area of 3rd Avenue and Cherry Street.

Tallassee Police Chief Todd Buce tells Action 8 News that it started with an argument between two men. The victim was taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery with a single gunshot wound.

Police have charged 39-year-old LaJonathan Kennebrew with 1st degree Assault after the victim identified him as the shooter.

The Tallassee Police Department says it believes this to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate danger to the community at this time.
