ADOC correctional security guard arrested for promoting prison contraband

A correctional security guard with the Alabama Department of Corrections has been arrested.

ADOC officials tell Action 8 News that Lashonnon Belser has been charged with Promoting Prison Contraband III.

Belser worked at the Ventress Correctional Facility in Barbour County.

Belser is currently in the Barbour County Jail.

ADOC officials say the investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
