ACTION 8 UPDATE: Juvenile robbery suspect’s crime spree extended from Montgomery County to Wilcox County

ACTION 8 UPDATE: We have an update to a story we told you about earlier this week. Last Saturday night, a Montgomery teenager was robbed at gunpoint and his car was stolen at a gas station on the Eastern Boulevard. Authorities say the suspect has been captured, but not before he committed another robbery and shot up a house in Wilcox County.

Wilcox County Sheriff Larry Colston tells Action 8 News that after the juvenile robber held up a teenager at gunpoint and stole his car from a gas station in Montgomery, he wrecked the victim’s 2004 Buick LeSabre in Montgomery County around U.S. Highway 80 and Cantelou Road.

When a Good Samaritan tried to help him after the wreck, the juvenile robber pulled out his gun again.

“A gentleman stopped to help him, and he stole the man’s vehicle and came on to Wilcox County'” Colston said.

The crime spree continued in Wilcox County.

“When the young man got into the area he shot up a home and vehicle in the Yellow Bluff area and then went into the area near Pine Hill. Deputies spotted him and recovered a weapon and a stolen vehicle. He ran from them in the woods. Later on that Sunday morning, he was brought in by family to the Prince Arnold Detention Center,” Colston said.

Bullets for the assault rifle he used to rob both victims were found in the totaled Buick LeSabre, according to Colston. The juvenile is facing robbery charges in the City of Montgomery and Montgomery County, and he’ll face more charges in Wilcox County,  including four counts of attempted murder.

“There were four people inside a residence when he shot at it. The owner of the home said her grandkids usually sleep on the couch in front of the door, but it just so happened that night, they didn’t,” Colston said.

Fortunately, the two children and two adults who were inside the Wilcox County home were not injured during the shooting.
