Summer-like heat continues, severe storms possible Thursday

Wednesday morning was mostly cloudy. However, Wednesday afternoon may become partly cloudy. That may allow temperatures to peak near 90° again. The chance for an isolated shower or storm remains low Wednesday. However, the chance for rain and storms looks higher Thursday. In fact, storms may arrive in a couple rounds. One during the day, then another Thursday evening and night.

Some storms may become strong to severe Thursday, capable mainly of damaging wind and hail. The second round of storms during the evening and night looks like it could be more intense. Temperatures may still warm to near 90° Thursday afternoon in between the rounds of storms. Some showers or storms remain possible Friday morning. Drier and cooler air arrives during the afternoon.

Mother’s day weekend looks nicer, with sunshine and some clouds Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures peak in the low 80s each afternoon. Both days look rain-free. However, chances for rain and storms return throughout next week. Temperatures remain not-as-hot, with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the 60s.
