Pay It Forward: Lewis Washington of Wetumpka
Paying it forward to others comes naturally for Lewis Washington of Wetumpka. When people need him they know they can count on him.
Marilyn Lucas “my baby brother, he was sick. My husband was sick, and I have another brother who is in the fourth stage of cancer. We were carrying him back-and-forth to Birmingham, so Teddy, as we call him, he stepped in and did everything. He carried my baby brother to the doctor. He would come by and check on us as well. He always do everything.”
While he has helped his family out in times of need, Washington is also there for others.
“He got a lot of guys that he helps along this Christian journey. He put money in their pocket and he don’t ask for nothing back,” said Lucas.
That’s why today Stewart Vance of the Vance Law Firm is paying it forward to him.
“I don’t do it for recognition. You know, I do this simply because the heart and the Lord tells me to let my good works shine, so that it will glorify His name in heaven, Matthew 5:16,” said Washington.
