Fallen heroes honored at Memorial Day ceremony in Selma
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
The cost of freedom was remembered during the annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday in Selma.
Memorial Day is a day of gratitude. It’s observed in remembrance of the soldiers who’ve fallen over the years — to keep the country we live in — a free nation.
The event was held at Memorial Stadium with dozens of flags decorating the scene in the red, white and blue — of the stars and stripes.
The VFW Post 3016 and American Legion Post 20 hosted the annual Memorial Day ceremony.
“Today is a day set aside to honor the men and women who gave their lives in defense of this country.”
