Auburn’s Jackson Koivun named the 2024 Jack Nicklaus Award Winner

Auburn freshman golfer, Jackson Koivun, was named the 2024 Jack Nicklaus Award Winner.
Koivun becomes the first player in history to take three national player of the year awards-Haskins Award, The Hogan Award, the Nicklaus Award- and the Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award all in the same season.
He is just the eighth player to sweep the three national golfer of the year awards, joiningLudvig Åberg (2023, Texas Tech), John Pak (2021, Florida State), Sahith Theegala (2020, Pepperdine), Patrick Rodgers (2014, Stanford), Ryan Moore (2005, UNLV), Bill Haas (2004, Wake Forest) and Hunter Mahan (2003, Oklahoma State).
Since he became the winner of the Nicklaus Award, he has now earned a spot in the field this week at the Memorial Tournament which is a PGA Tour Event.
The Nicklaus Award is named for the Big Ten and NCAA Champion who helped inspire and create the honor in 1988. The award is presented to the national player of the year in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA and NJCAA.
