ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery man charged with capital murder, attempted murder

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police have arrested a man on charges of capital murder and attempted murder.

Police say 20-year-old Jaquerrius Jordan of Montgomery has been arrested in the May 26 shooting death of 40-year-old Shayla Jones of Montgomery. The shooting happened near downtown, in the 900 block of S. Union Street, which is close to Interstate 85.

Another woman was shot in the same shooting. Police said her injuries were non-life threatening.

Jordan was taken into custody today and is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.

Police have released no other information.
