City of Gulf Shores hosts Hurricane Preparedness Expo

The City of Gulf Shores is helping keep its residents and visitors safe should the Gulf Coast experience a hurricane this season. Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30.

The free event held downtown Thursday offered the public an opportunity to educate themselves on hurricane preparedness and the many products and services available before, during, and after a storm.

“A vital part of being prepared is understanding what resources are available,” said Gulf Shores Emergency Management Coordinator Brandan Franklin. “This event is set up to provide a one-stop-shop to learn helpful tips and be introduced to the many products and services available to help protect families and their property.”

If you were not able to attend the expo, you can find more information about hurricane season in Gulf Shores here.

Action 8’s Teresa Lawson went down to the Gulf Coast to learn more about the resources offered to the Hurricane Preparedness Expo. You can watch her story above.
