Hundreds come to Gateway Park on Saturday for Free Fish Day
Montgomery Parks and Recreation hosted a Free Fish Day at Gateway Park on Saturday. Members of the community were invited to Gateway Park to fish, and no license was needed. The water was stocked with more than 2,000 pounds of fish, and staff members from Go Fish Alabama and the Alabama Division of Wildlife were on site to supply rods, bait, and assistance every step of the way. They even showed participants how to fry the fish once they’d been caught. More than 500 people showed up to partake in the festivities, and there was also archery, as well as a playground for the little ones.
