Suspect arrested in Montgomery bank robbery

Lane BlatchfordA suspect has been arrested in a Montgomery bank robbery.

According to court records, 29-year-old Lane Blatchford, of Prattville, walked into the Liberty Bank on Carmichael Road around 10:00 a.m. Monday.

Blatchford gave the cashier a check that said “I have a gun, smile and give me a stack of hundred dollar bills or I start shooting.”

Police say Blatchford then placed his hand in his front pockets to fashion as if he had a weapon, then later fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident.

Blatchford is charged with 1st degree Robbery and is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
