ACTION 8 UPDATE: New lane opens to traffic on Interstate 85 in Montgomery
Your drive on Interstate 85 southbound has just gotten easier.
A new lane has opened between Exit 11, which is the Mitylene exit, and Exit 9, the Taylor Road exit.
What this means is that drivers getting onto the interstate at Mitylene heading south no longer have to merge so quickly, and those already on the interstate don’t have to dodge incoming traffic. A driver getting on at Mitylene and getting off at Taylor road can simply stay in the far right lane for the entire two-mile distance.
Work to add the new lane started last fall.
