Dallas Co. jury convicts Selma man in 2018 fatal shooting

A Selma man is convicted on multiple charges — in a fatal shooting at a Selma gas station.

Wal Tyusguilty0614 VoJimmy Lee Tyus was convicted of murder — two counts of first-degree assault — and shooting-into-an-occupied-vehicle Thursday — by a Dallas County jury.

Tyus killed 26 year old Earnest Daniels III — at the Raceway Gas Station on Highland Avenue in 2018.

Assistant District Attorney Jim Ransom says the jury deliberated for about two and a half hours — before handing down a guilty verdict in the trial.

Tyus will be sentenced at a later date.

He’s facing 10 to 99 years — or life in prison.
