The heat backs down this week despite low chances for rain
Father’s day was hot across central and south Alabama, with temperatures soaring into the mid and upper 90s in several locations. Fortunately, showers and storms formed during the afternoon. They were widely scattered by the early evening, cooling temperatures into the 70s in their wake. Showers and storms fade away Sunday night. The sky becomes partly cloudy overnight, with lows in the low 70s.
The heat backs down a bit this week. High temperatures generally remain in the low 90s Monday through Friday. Isolated showers and storms appear possible again Monday afternoon. However, Tuesday through Thursday look mainly dry. The rain chance looks higher again on Friday through next weekend. It looks like a typical summer pattern, with isolated to widely scattered daytime showers and storms.
