More Scorching Summer Heat Ahead This Week!

I can hear Forrest Gump saying it right now….”and just like that it was already 100 degrees in Alabama”.  The hot and humid days of summer are here and it looks like there’s no real end in sight.  We’re expecting mid to upper 90s for high temperatures throughout the workweek and upcoming weekend.  There will be occasional showers and storms around and that could help combat the heat at times.

In the meantime, our sky will be partly cloudy with temps only falling into the lower to mid 70s overnight.  A mostly sunny sky is how we start out Wednesday but clouds will roll in during the afternoon. Temps will easily climb into the mid to upper 90s again.  Showers and a few t-storms will begin to develop after lunch and our rain chances are expected to increase a bit as the afternoon progresses.

The rest of the week and upcoming weekend will continue to be hot with highs in the mid to upper 90s. We do expect there will be periods of afternoon showers and storm potential.  Some of the storms will be capable of heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.  Not everyone will see them but most will probably welcome any liquid relief from these scorching June temperatures!
