Millbrook Publix holds grand opening
People in Millbrook are welcoming their new Publix grocery store.
Hundreds of people waited for the grand opening, which followed a ribbon cutting this morning.
Publix at Camp Grandview Plaza is located on Alabama Highway 14 in Millbrook.
The 47,000 square foot store will employ approximately 130 people.
“I want to thank our city council, our economic development team and especially our city staff,” Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley said. “The city staff that had to work so closely with the realty link team and the contractors all during the thing — this little problem came up, that little problem came up — but they all got it worked out. Our city staff, there is not another one around anywhere like it.”
Later this month, Publix plans to open a store in Wetumpka.
