From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A missing person case in Perry County has become a murder investigation in Dallas County. And now authorities need your help to find a wanted suspect in the case.
It started as a missing person case in Perry County when 23 year old Christian Moore was reported missing last week by his family.
But that case was closed soon after Moore’s truck was found burned up on CR 230 in Dallas County with a deceased body inside.
“We weren’t positively sure it was Mr. Moore at the time. But we had indications it was. His vehicle was a good indication so were waiting on forensics to come back with some evidence,” Sheriff Mike Granthum.
Further investigation lead authorities to suspect that Moore may have been killed during an argument with a man over a woman.
“Altercation lead to some possible gunshots being fired. Of course we’re waiting on forensics to verify that,” said Granthum.
“We do know that he was placed in his car, we do know that he was driven to a location, we do know that vehicle was set on fire.”
Twenty four year old Artavis Thomas of Selma was arrested and she’s now facing several charges in the case — including abuse of a corpse — and tampering with physical evidence.
Thirty year old Anthony Finney of Selma — is wanted on similar charges — as well as murder.
“He’s a black male about 6’1, approximately 350 lbs. If anybody comes in contact with him, he’s wanted. We have charges on him,” Granthum said.
“I want the public to know, if you do run across this subject, he’s dangerous. We do believe he’s still armed. We ask that you don’t approach him. Please, don’t approach this subject on your own. If you think you’ve spot him let us know. This guy needs to be off the streets. And he needs to be off the streets today.”
