Heart of Alabama Food Bank brings food to the people of south Montgomery County
The Heart of Alabama Food Bank has hosted a mobile pantry in south Montgomery County.
The mobile pantry set up early this morning at the Montgomery County Activity Center. They were prepared to help a little over 300 families with food items.
Protein, milk, fruits and vegetables were put into cars that were driven up.
There are a lot of food deserts throughout the Heart of Alabama Food Bank service area, and the purpose of the mobile pantry is to provide those staples for families in need.
The Heart of Alabama Food Bank, in partnership with the Montgomery County Commission and volunteers, launched a drive-thru mobile pantry initiative, which is the first of its kind in south Montgomery County.
