A well-known Montgomery doctor was arrested in Shelby County last month on drug charges and attempting to elude.

According to court records obtained by Action 8 News, on July 26, Alabaster police attempted to pull over 46-year-old Brian Richardson on I-65 near the 237 mile marker.

Richardson refused to stop after the officer signaled for him to pull over. According to the records, during the attempt to elude, Richardson exceeded 20 miles per hour over the legal speed and at one point, reached 125 miles per hour in a posted 70 mile per hour zone while Alabaster police officers tried to pull him over.

Richardson is charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of attempting to elude.

He has since bonded out of jail.
