Temperatures trend higher, rain chances remain low this week
Sunday was a pleasant late August day for central and south Alabama. High temperatures were higher than Saturday, but humidity was lower. Even though temperatures warmed into the mid 90s in some locations, heat indices were 2-3° cooler than air temperatures during the afternoon. The sky was near-cloudless, with no rain anywhere in our area. The sky remains mainly clear Sunday night with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
Temperatures trend higher, but rain chances remain slim this week. High temperatures reach the mid 90s in more locations Monday. The rest of the week could be even hotter, with high temperatures in the upper 90s in at least some locations through Friday. The heat may decrease slightly Labor Day weekend, but high temperatures may remain in the mid 90s through Labor Day. Rain chances may rise a bit during the holiday weekend.
