Tie and Doll collects thousands of pounds of food for hungry school children in Montgomery
The Tie and Doll Stuff the Truck food drive was back in full swing this Saturday. Stuff the Truck volunteers loaded a U-Haul truck with donations as people dropped them off at the Sturbridge Winn-Dixie. They filled it with essential food items for MPS students, including non-perishable foods like granola bars, oatmeal, and mac and cheese. Those items will be put into the backpacks of students in need who may not get enough to eat at home.
This year was a great success, as 6,500 pounds of food was donated as well as $1,200 dollars in monetary gifts from the community. Tie & Doll, Action 8 News, Winn-Dixie, and our other partners are thankful to everyone who came out to donate and volunteer for this great cause.
