Two arrested in Alexander City armed robbery

Two people have been arrested after an armed robbery in Alexander City.

Alexander City Police Sgt. Drew Machen told Action 8 News that the robbery happened at a business in the 900 block of Cherokee Road at about 4:30PM on Saturday, August 24.

Machen said officers found a vehicle on Washington Street that matched the description of the one used in the robbery.

He said two people were inside the vehicle and were arrested. They are identified as 35-year-old Johnathon Belyeu of Monroe, Georgia, and 27-year-old Zhikerria McKinney of Alexander City.

Machen said they are both charged with robbery in the first degree.
