MRI Can Predict Heart Attacks and Strokes

A new study finds an MRI of the carotid artery can accurately predict future strokes and heart attacks.  

Researchers at the National Institutes of Health used MRI’s to look at plaque in the carotid arteries of about 950 patients with a history of cardiac disease    

They found MRI improved their ability to determine the risk of a cardiovascular event by up to 16%.
