Gulf of Mexico tropical trouble brewing, but pleasant early this week

Sunday was a pleasant day across central and south Alabama. Sunshine was abundant for most, with seasonably warm high temperatures in the 80s to low 90s. Sunday night looks partly cloudy and mild with lows in the mid to upper 60s. Monday looks pleasant with a partly cloudy sky, a minimal chance for rain, and warm with highs near 90°.

Tropical trouble brewing in the western Gulf of Mexico may affect central and south Alabama late this week, mainly Thursday and into Friday. Locally heavy and more widespread rain, along with brisk winds look like a good bet for our area. The risk for tropical tornadoes in convective tropical feeder bands looks more unclear for our area.

Although, with the circulation of Potential Tropical Cyclone 6 tracking north along the lower Mississippi River during the middle and end of the week, tornadoes may be a hazard. Stay tuned for updates on this tropical system throughout this week as forecast details and timing of impacts in our area become clearer. It looks like our are dries out a bit next weekend, with some lingering clouds and some showers.
