Tropical rain showers expected on Thursday
Newly-formed Tropical Storm Francine is expected to reach hurricane strength in the western Gulf of Mexico, before making landfall by late Wednesday most likely in Louisiana.
As Francine moves northward near the Mississippi River Wednesday night and Thursday, tropical rain bands are expected to spread into Central and South Alabama. Rain could be heavy at times, along with winds gusting to around thirty miles per hour. Stronger winds could occur with any thunderstorms that develop.
