Billingsley man dies in Chilton County crash

A single-vehicle crash in Chilton County has claimed the life of a Billingsley man.

The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. Saturday on Chilton County 5, approximately one mile south of Jemison.

20-year-old Pablo Crews Garcia was fatally injured when the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.

Troopers say Garcia was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. As a result, Garcia was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
