ClefWorks & Christchurch present Baroque Trios Concert in Montgomery
An evening concert recently in Montgomery brought musicians from Florida to perform beautiful music using a violin, harpsicord, and cello. ClefWorks and Christchurch came together to present a concert called Baroque Trios.
Two members of the Jacksonville Symphony Alexei Romanenko and Jonathan Kuo traveled to Montgomery to perform with harpsichordist Thomas Bowers prior to his move to Rhode Island. Romanenko was a former Cello fellow of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and everyone was delighted to welcome him back to Montgomery.
Father Andrew Rowell welcomed everyone to Christchurch and Lister Hubbard offered a farewell to Bowers. Hubbard was a founding Board member of ClefWorks over 15 years ago and has supported the mission of music education ever since. Bowers has been a frequent presence in area schools over the years as he demonstrates the harpsichord he built himself to fascinated students. ClefWorks was grateful for the support of the Lowder Foundation to offer free tickets for students during National Arts in Education Week.
ClefWorks will have a free children’s concert on Saturday, October 26 at 10am at Trinity Church.
