MOBIS breaks ground on $52 million automotive facility in Montgomery

MOBIS, which is a Tier 1 supplier to Hyundai and Kia, has broken ground on a new project in Montgomery.

Its new $52 million, 460,000-square-foot facility will serve the aftermarket parts needs for both Hyundai and Kia’s national dealer networks.

Today, Graham & Co. Development, Cooper Construction, FIVESOUTH Architecture, Graham Capital and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, hosted a groundbreaking to celebrate MOBIS’s expansion.

The new facility is expected to create 27 jobs that will pay an average of $28 per hour. MOBIS already has more than 1,500 employees in our region and has made a capital investment in Montgomery of $475 million since 2002.

Hyundai operates an assembly plant in Montgomery, which opened in 2005. In addition, Kia has an assembly plant just across the state line in West Point, Georgia, just off Interstate 85.
