One dead, three hurt in crash on Interstate 85 in Opelika

A wreck on Interstate 85 in Opelika has left a man dead and three others hurt.
Opelika police say the wreck happened at around 5:18PM yesterday between an 18-wheeler and a car on the stretch of interstate between exits 57 and 58 northbound.
Officers found the car in a ditch with four people inside. A 19-year-old passenger was taken to East Alabama Medical Center where he died. The other three were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Their names haven’t been released.
The two people in the 18-wheeler were not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Opelika Police Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit.
