Shower Chances Continue For Late Week

Moisture continues to flow into the area and that’s leading to some rain activity.  It’s not a significant rain event but anything will help after an extremely dry October.   Showers and  a few t-storms are possible over the next few days.  Our best rain chances will be south and eastern area.   These areas  could see some beneficial rains.  It doesn’t look like much rain activity will occur west of the I-65 corridor.  High pressure sitting east of us is slowing the progress of a frontal system to our west.  The frontal boundary may eventually push through Central Alabama and stall over the southern part of the state.   This system could help trigger additional showers or t-storms as it hovers over our southern most counties.  Farther southward over the gulf will be Rafael later this week.   It’s forecast to enter the gulf early Thursday.  Model data has it moving more westward.  The official NHC track keeps it well south of our gulf coast area for now.  Another frontal system will set up west of the state over the weekend.  Confidence is low on the fronts progress.  It could get held up and weaken west of the state.  It’s something we’re watching and will update as the week progresses.
