ADOC correctional officer arrested for sex crimes against inmate

A correctional officer with the Alabama Department of Corrections has been arrested after having inappropriate contact with an inmate.

According to court records, 34-year-old LaQuentin Brantley is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a female inmate on October 18 at the Julia Tutwiler Prison in Wetumpka.

Court records say Brantley inappropriately fondled and touched the victim after threatening her if she didn’t cooperate.

Brantley is currently being held in the Elmore County Jail without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
