Above Average Temps Sticking Around
Temps remain well above average for highs and there’s still no cold air in sight. Upper 70s to lower 80s are likely through the weekend into next week. We will keep the chance for showers and a few t-storms over the next few days. It won’t be anything significant but any little bit will help out during this rather dry period we continue in. There would be increased chances for rain but high pressure sitting east of us is slowing the progress of a frontal system to our west. A frontal boundary may eventually push through early next week. This system could help trigger additional showers or t-storms as it approaches the area Sunday.
Farther southward over the gulf hurricane Rafael continues to move westward. Model data continues to show the tropical system weakening over the upcoming weekend. The official NHC track keeps it well south of our gulf coast area.
