Man killed in Montgomery County crash

A man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash just outside of the Montgomery city limits.

Alabama State Troopers say 39-year-old Antonio Ivarra of Phenix City was killed when the car he was driving collided head on with an SUV driven by a 16-year-old from Montgomery.

Investigators say Ivarra wasn’t using a seat belt, was thrown out of his car and died at the scene.

In addition, 29-year-old Luis Reyes of Auburn, who was riding with Ivarra, was injured and taken to a hospital, as was the 16-year-old driver of the other vehicle.

The wreck happened at about 1:30 this morning on Alabama Highway 126, about one mile east of Montgomery.
