Montgomery Regional Airport becomes a petting zoo for travelers
Holiday travel can be stressful, so the Montgomery Zoo is offering something unique to help travelers relax — a petting zoo.
On Monday, animals from Marley Acres Petting Zoo were inside the zoo to welcome travelers. Guests of all ages had a chance to interact with friendly animals, such as a llama, alpaca, sheep and more.
“Passengers have thoroughly enjoyed the petting zoo from Marley Acres,” Brittney Jones-Dabney, the marketing and communications manager at the airport, said. “It’s just been such amazing to see our passengers come through and be able to pet the animals. They’re delighted number one, and they’re just also surprised that we’re having this event happening at the airport.”
“It was such a sweet surprise, and I asked the gentleman handling the animals what the purpose was, and he said to bring happiness to the passengers. And it certainly was a surprise to hold a kangaroo for the first time coming off the plane,” airport visitor Sivan Zamir said.
