Pike County Awarded New Equipment to Monitor Sexual Predators

Pike County Deputies with help from The Alabama District Attorney’s Association and the Office of Procecution Services now have new equipment to monitor sex offender activity across the county.

Through a United States Department of Justice grant both Coffee and Pike Counties have received new equipment to better track sexual offenders who fall out of compliance. This equipment, an updated computer system and I-pad, now gives deputies the convenience of monitoring sex offenders throughout the county without the need of physical paperwork.

By law all convicted sex offenders must register in the county of their residence. This registration should be updated quarterly and remain current up until the date of the offender’s death.
