Time is running out to donate to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign

You have less than 24 hours to donate to the Salvation Army of Montgomery’s Red Kettle campaign.

Capt. Thomas Johnson tells Action 8 News that our local branch is about $50,000 short of its $200,000 goal.

The campaign ends on Christmas Eve.

Every year from November through Christmas Eve, volunteers and workers are out in full force ringing the bells for the Salvation Army’s annual fundraiser.  The money raised goes towards the following year’s operational costs and programs.

“I am asking folks when you’re out shopping and you pass by that kettle bell, think of a family that needs their lights turned on during the year,” said Capt. Johnson. “Think of that love one that needs food to put on the table [and] think of all that’s happening and you can make a difference by dropping a penny, a dollar, a 20 or a check into that kettle.”

If you can’t make it to a red kettle in our area, you can also donate online by clicking here.
