Man shot and killed in Ft. Deposit

Ft. Deposit police have confirmed to Action 8 News that a man has been shot and killed.

Police say the shooting happened just after 6PM last night near the Edgewood Manor apartment complex. Police say the victim was a Black man who appeared to have been in his 20s. His name hasn’t been released.

Fire medics were called to the scene, but the victim died before he could be taken to a hospital.

No other information has been released about the victim or whether there are any suspects.
