ACTION 8 UPDATE: Elmore County middle school student who collapsed at school is improving

ACTION 8 UPDATE: The middle school student in Elmore County who collapsed on Tuesday is now showing signs of improvement.

Elmore County School Supt. Richard Dennis said the student is responding to commands and has had a positive turn in his condition.

The student, a boy, is in seventh grade at Redland Middle School. He was nonresponsive when he collapsed. He was flown to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.

Dennis says he will continue to provide updates on the boy’s status as his parents communicate them. Dennis expresses his thanks for everyone’s prayers and he asks that you continue to keep the student and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
