Troy baseball ranked to begin season for first time
D1Baseball released its preseason rankings Monday. There was one team from the state of Alabama in the top 25. And it wasn’t Alabama or Auburn.
The Troy Trojans earned the No. 25 spot, marking their first-ever preseason ranking. Troy baseball achieved its first ranking since 2013 during last year’s campaign, when it rose to No. 21.
The team returns key players including MLB prospect Brooks Bryan and former Sun Belt Player of the Year Shane Lewis.
Fourth-year head coach Skylar Meade also added talent from the portal, including players with SEC experience.
The college baseball season begins Feb. 14.
