ACTION 8 UPDATE: Third suspect arrested in 2024 Montgomery murder

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police have charged a third suspect in a fatal shooting.

Police say they’ve charged a 16 year old, who is from Montgomery, with two counts of capital murder and three counts of attempted murder. 

He was charged in the October 23, 2024, shooting death of 22-year-old Eldren Wright of Montgomery. Wright was shot in the 1000 block of Liberty Square Drive.

The 16 year old was arrested today and put in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.

As Action 8 News has reported, police have previously arrested another suspect in the case. 19-year-old Bakeith Jackson, Jr., of Montgomery was also charged with two counts of capital murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Jackson was taken into custody on January 4. He was also placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.

In addition to Jackson’s arrest, a second 16 year old was arrested January 9 and faces the same charges and is also being held without bond.
