StoryCorps wants people in Selma to share their stories

From the West Alabama Newsroom–

People in Selma have the unique opportunity to share their own personal stories — with the world.

Waka Storycorps0129 SotvoStoryCorps is a national nonprofit organization — committed to the idea that everyone has a story to tell.

The group is in Selma recording the personal stories that people share — until February 7th.

“Yeah, so Brightness in Black is one of our initiatives that we have with StoryCorp. So, we’re inviting members of the black community to come in and tell their own story on their own terms,” said Ian Murakami.

The stories will become part of the Library of Congress online archive — and be shared with Alabama Public Radio.
