Millbrook to get Big Mike’s Steakhouse location

Alabama-based Big Mike’s Steakhouse has announced plans to bring a location to Millbrook.

At a news conference this week, it was announced the restaurant will be located at Grandview Road and Main Street in the former Welcome Food Pantry building. This will be the company’s newest location in Alabama.

The building will be renovated to provide Big Mike’s Steakhouse with a warm, rustic ambience and will be designed for family gatherings, celebrations and everything in between.

“Today is historic in Millbrook,” Mayor Al Kelley said. “It’s great for our downtown area to have Big Mike’s Steakhouse here in Millbrook. It’s a blessing and it’s going to be a great financial benefit — not only financial benefit, but just a benefit for this part of town. We’ve been looking for that catalyst to start this downtown area and Big Mike’s Steakhouse will be it.”

“We looked at the old building,” Big Mike’s Steakhouse owner Mike Cole said. “I was just like, ‘Yeah, that’s us. Fix up something, make it a beautiful downtown again. We love the area. The people have been so nice to us, and I think we will provide a good service for the community.”

The renovation will be done by the Millbrook Redevelopment Authority which will lease the property once the renovations are completed.

The projected opening will be in August.

Big Mike’s Steakhouse first opened in Thomasville.  In our area, there are also restaurants in Andalusia and Auburn. The restaurant chain was voted to have the best steaks in Alabama by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.
