Still warm, a few showers Sunday; Better rain chances next week
Saturday was another very warm day across central and south Alabama. High temperatures were nearly 20° above average. In fact, Montgomery set a new record high temperature for February 8th of 82°. Saturday night remains very warm, with temperatures only falling into the 60s overnight. Clouds increase after midnight. Thanks to an approaching cold front, a few showers appear possible Sunday morning.
However, Sunday looks far from a washout. With some afternoon sunshine, temperatures warm into the mid to upper 70s, at least south of I-85. The front likely heads to our south early next week. Temperatures trend slightly cooler as a result, though most locations still warm into the 60s to low 70s Monday and Tuesday. Each day looks mostly cloudy. Monday looks mainly dry, but rain chances rise Tuesday, especially late in the day.
Rain remains Fairly likely Tuesday night into Wednesday, and Wednesday night into Thursday. Late Thursday into Friday looks drier. However, another system may move across Alabama next weekend. That results in more rain Saturday into Sunday. Meanwhile, temperatures remain fairly warm during the second week of February. High temperatures likely range from the low to mid 70s most days.
