Pine Belt Communications expands fiber optic network

Fiber-optic technology is bringing broadband internet services to people who live in under-served communities.

Crews are currently installing fiber optic lines in the town of Orrville in Dallas County.

Residents there could sign up and get connected in about 8 to 12 weeks.

“We’re putting in fiber networks, the fiber optic that’s going to provide telephone, internet, TV to your home in a lot of places that didn’t have service,” said Anne Capps with Pine Belt Communications.

“It’s going to help the young generation be better and grow,” said Arthur Carson, Sr. of Orrville.
