Rain Returns Midweek Then Turning Much Colder!
We have a brief opportunity to dry out a bit but there’s more rain on the way and then we’re right back in the deep freeze for a few days. It is still winter and you will definitely notice it later this week.
In the meantime, clouds will roll back into the area tonight into Tuesday. These will be mainly high clouds and little impact on our weather. Temps will be cold overnight. We’re back down into the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows. We should manage upper 50s to lower 60s Tuesday afternoon. An area of low pressure will enter our gulf coast region and help bring rain to the state Wednesday. Cloudy and wet conditions are expected and rainfall potential will range between .25 to 1-inch. We don’t see any severe storm activity accompanying this system.
We head into late week with much colder air returning to the state. Morning low temps will hover in the lower to mid 20s and highs only in the 40s. It will be a surge of Arctic air that settles over us for a few days. The colder air will gradually retreat over the weekend. That’s just before another round of rain works into the area Sunday into Monday.
