Rep. Shomari Figures hosts roundtable discussion in the Capital City

It has been 45 days since U.S. Representative Shomari Figures entered office.

Wednesday, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce held an exclusive roundtable conversion with Rep. Figures.

The discussion aimed to spark conversation between the chamber and business leaders with Rep. Figures discussing key issues impacting the area’s local communities and businesses.

Rep. Figures shared with Action 8 that he plans to continue to prioritize things like healthcare and he’s in the process of creating grant funding programs and opportunities for rural hospitals.

We sat down with Rep. Figures to see how his time in Washington, D.C. has been so far.

“Things are going well,” said Rep. Figures. “Washington is a lot right now, but we are doing everything that we can to take the interest of the people of District 2 to Washington and work very hard to make sure that we standing up for the needs and the priorities here.”

Rep. Figures defeated Caroleene Dobson in the Novemeber election in the newly drawn 2nd Congressional District.
